Part I: Look at APA Homework [9:30-9:40 (10min)]
Please open your optional APA homework from Tuesday or click on this link to access the file. I will be going over the answers with you as a class and discussing the format on the big screen.
Part II: APA Overview [9:40-10:10 (30 min)]
As many students are unfamiliar with any type of citation format, I will give a short overview into the format of APA. Knowing proper citation format will be critical for this assignment as it is a major component of the grade. Students who have not mastered another type of citations (e.g. Chicago, MLA) are required to use APA for the remainder of the service course assignments. Please click on this APA PowerPoint presentation if you would like to follow along at your computer. Also, time permitting, I would like you to take a look at this document that demonstrates the difference between MLA formatting and APA formatting.
Part III: Introduction to Source Synthesis Summary [10:10-10:30 (20 min)]
The next major assignment in this class is the Source Synthesis Summary Assignment. Please open up the Updated Course Schedule as I go over dates and directions in detail.
In brief, over the course of the next four weeks, we will be working on building this paper. (The final is due on Oct 30th). Please open up the directions to this assignment HERE or you can find it under major course assignments.
